How We Rank Warframes for Fissures
Void Fissure missions have unique demands compared to standard content. You need to kill enough corrupted enemies to collect 10 Reactant, survive the mission, and ideally support your squad along the way. The best Fissure Warframes excel at one or more of: mass enemy killing, crowd control, survivability, or resource generation. This tier list focuses on Public Fissure runs from Lith through Axi tier, including Steel Path variants.
S Tier — Exceptional for All Fissure Types
Mesa
Mesa's Peacemaker turns every Fissure into a gallery shoot. Her ability to lock down an area and shred corrupted enemies at range makes Reactant collection nearly automatic. Her Shatter Shield provides strong survivability. Arguably the most universally effective Fissure frame.
Saryn
Saryn's Spores spread damage across entire maps, corrupting enemies dying in all directions means Reactant drops everywhere. In Survival and Defense Fissures, Saryn essentially guarantees that every squad member hits 10 Reactant without even trying. An S-tier squad carry.
Nekros
Nekros sits in S tier for a specific reason: Desecrate. His passive doubles Reactant drops from corpses, meaning your squad needs to kill fewer enemies to fill their Reactant count. In low-density missions or higher SP Fissures, this is invaluable. Also provides excellent survivability through Soul Punch and Shadow summons.
A Tier — Strong, Consistent Performers
Nova
Nova's Molecular Prime slows enemies and causes them to explode on death, chaining kills and generating Reactant efficiently. Slow Nova (max range, negative power strength) is especially prized in endurance Fissures for the crowd control it provides to the whole squad.
Khora
Strangledome packs enemies together, making them easy to kill for Reactant. Her Venari companion adds passive damage output. A reliable all-rounder that performs well without requiring squad-specific synergy.
Trinity
Trinity doesn't kill efficiently but makes your entire squad effectively unkillable. In Steel Path Fissures where survivability is the primary challenge, a Trinity keeping Energy Vampire active is worth more than a second damage dealer.
B Tier — Good With the Right Build
Octavia
Octavia's Mallet and Resonator combo generates consistent kills without player input, freeing you to manage Reactant collection. Requires a solid understanding of her kit to use well in dynamic Fissure environments.
Wukong
Wukong's Twin effectively doubles your kill output, and Defy makes him nearly immortal. Easy to play and forgiving for newer players entering Fissures for the first time. Not a top-tier pick but extremely reliable.
Equinox
Maim in Night Form accumulates damage across kills and releases it in an AoE burst — excellent for dense Defense and Survival Fissures. Requires energy management but rewards skilled play with massive enemy clears.
C Tier — Functional But Outclassed
- Volt — Speed is useful for Capture Fissures; underperforms in longer mission types.
- Rhino — Iron Skin provides great survivability but lacks the kill power or utility of higher tiers.
- Frost — Snow Globe is useful in Defense, but passive Reactant generation is limited compared to active killers.
Quick Reference
| Tier | Warframe | Key Strength |
|---|---|---|
| S | Mesa, Saryn, Nekros | Mass kills / Reactant boost / Survivability |
| A | Nova, Khora, Trinity | CC / AoE / Squad support |
| B | Octavia, Wukong, Equinox | Passive kills / Durability / Burst AoE |
| C | Volt, Rhino, Frost | Situational use only |
Final Notes
No Warframe is completely unviable in Fissures — even C-tier picks can clear low-level missions comfortably. The tier list becomes more meaningful at Steel Path and in coordinated squads where synergy and speed matter. Build around your playstyle first, but if you're picking purely for Fissure efficiency, Mesa and Saryn are the gold standard.
